If I Had a Million Dollars this is what I'd Buy for Christmas

How to set a holiday mood: 1. Sparkly dress Step 2: Fill the whole room with poinsettias.

Ever since Gwen Stefani released Rich Girl in 2004, I too wondered what it would be like to “have all the money in the world.” Buying gifts for people has been especially satisfying this year. But if I was just a little (okay, a lot) more strapped with cash these are the top-tier fashion products I’d dole out Oprah-style.

*The below photos are taken from other retailers websites. I take no credit in anyway for the production of any of the images below. Where applicable, images are hyperlinked back to their original website. Happy Shopping!*

1. Varese Bell Bottom Jeans with Ruffle - $350 Garments that elicit copious ways to wear is what we should all be after. A pants skirt is a fancy way to wear a still bifurcated garment and with 3-5 days international shipping? I’ll say less.

Skirt or pants? Awesome doesn't care.

2. Isabel Marant Emma Mohair Knit Sweater - $775 As a buyer, most of my meetings include looking at colors, analyzing silhouettes, and feeling fabrics. Somehow the sweater meetings always take the longest and since I have spent actual, full-length 9 to 5 days feeling sweaters, I can confidently crown mohair the perfect sweater material. Soft and fuzzy. Never pills or scratches. This shade is just dark enough to enhance natural skin tones plus, the strong shoulders add a layer of masculinity.

3. Haute Couture Pearls Face Mask - $179 Handmade on Etsy so the price is kind of a steal? I look at it this way: if I have to wear a mask forevermore I want my whole head covered in pearls. It’s called going all in and it is a mantra.

4. Studio Amelia T-Bar Leather Sandals - $340 First shoe on the list! Literally strap in because these square toe, slender 3-inch heels elevate all styles - athleisure included.

5. David Koma Crystal Embellished Crepe Mini Skirt - $1,045 I knew to write an article like this I had to get started on Moda Operandi. For those who don’t know, Moda is a website that sells designer clothes and accessories made all around the globe. A constant thread for newly stocked items: crystal embellished hemlines. However, never just bedazzled straight across the hem, always with a cutout making leg interest the new sleeve interest.

6. Proenza Schouler Herringbone Boucle Wool-Blend Coat - $1,990 Every woman yearns for a new coat. My top designer selection for this year encompasses all my favorite details: herringbone (this is NOT a menswear print,) gilded buttons, and tasteful color blocking. Add to cart.

7. Mother Denim Dazzling Yoke Front Ankle in Wild Calling - $248 Because you will never be too grown up for soft, pale denim. Comfortable jeans are worth splurging on. They are out there. And they are Mother. Ask 2020 herself.

8. Hueb Tribal 18k Yellow Gold Tribal Earrings - $10,580 The good news: you only have to pay $5,290 upfront. The bad news: you have to pay $5,290 upfront and oh, yeah, non-returnable. (Not that you would return.) I picked these earrings over others of similar merit because the so-called “tribal” shape also reads art deco to me. Just as timeless as Chanel No. 5 and yet, less predictable.

9. Chanel 19 Large Flap Black Bag - $4,800 So speaking of Chanel…I think you all knew deep in your hearts a Chanel bag would make an appearance on my rich list. I would never bash the classic quilted bag. It's just tough because there are so many knockoffs that have made the bag much cheaper in look and less prestigious. So I am picking the house’s signature tweed suiting material, in the form of the black Chanel 19 Large Flap Bag. For a bag to live a long life in my closet, it must be large enough to fit all my essential items. This red lined beauty will more than do the trick.

10. Rogue Hermes Matte Lipstick in Orange Boite $67 - What I’m putting in my new Chanel bag? None other than a refillable Hermes lipstick - surprisingly the least expensive item on this list. But don’t be fooled, a leather storage case for this tiny tube will set you back $340. I am always drawn to a dark ruby lip but if you’re going Hermes, a creamy orange the lip color must be!

11. Bottega Veneta Mules in Rust - $1,100 Let’s just say if I was alive in the 1970s I would have never let mules go out of style.

12. Prada Decode Oversized Hexagon Frame Acetate Sunglasses - $445 Though, I love the round Ringo glasses on others, I seek more definition. Bamboo hexagon frames make you look important. It is proven science. Newton’s Law maybe?

13. Zimmerman The Lovestruck Linen Printed Midi Dress - $850 Since my budget is unlimited I will also take: Zimmerman’s Lady Beetle Fortune Applique Tulle Dress for $2,950, thank you. I am drinking the Kool-Aid on everything Zimmerman these days. As a newer label that came out of Sydney in 1991, Zimmerman’s designs collaborate past and future perfectly.

Needless to say, if you’ve made it this far in the article, it is in your best interest to get on my good list. And if you’ve got it like this and aren’t sure what to treat your loved ones too (hi, Ari) consider this the only gift guide that doesn’t tell you to shop at Target. $25,719 later...
